The Sands Centre is pleased to confirm that the official Collabro tour will kick off in Carlisle in January 2015 and they will be joined by very special guest and runner up Lucy Kay! Collabro, this year's ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winners, won £250,000 cash prize and a spot at this year's Royal Variety Performance.

Arts & Events Manager Jonathan Higgins said "After negotiation with management and the promoter we are absolutely thrilled to secure the opening date of the Collabro tour next January. Matthew Pagen was here at The Sands Centre last Friday with his mum and dad and told me that he really hoped that his home city would be on their first tour, so we are all really chuffed”.

Michael Auger, Richard Hadfield, Jamie Lambert, Thomas Leak and Matthew Pagan only formed a month prior to their audition for ‘Britain's Got Talent’ and came together over their shared love of musical theatre. In February their lives changed forever when they performed ‘Stars’ from ‘Les Miserables’, the song performed by the character Javert in the long-running musical, bowling the judges over. David Walliams said "It was wonderful, you couldn’t fault it. It was perfection” and Simon Cowell added "I have to echo that, you have steel in your eyes when you sing. You are totally focused. The first time I heard this song it was fantastic, well this was a step-up.”

The boys have said "we are so excited to be going on tour and to be joined by Lucy Kay too - what a treat! We can't wait to sing live to our fans and show the UK what we have to offer!"

Band member Matthew Pagen, aged 20, is from St. Annes in Carlisle and has recently performed the lead role of Prince Lorenzo in The Sands Centre’s panto ‘Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs’ – The Sands Centre’s most successful panto to date!
